WWE has already announced the venue and date of the next WrestleMania, but according to reports, they are beginning to make alternative plans in case the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t clear up by then.
Currently, WrestleMania 37 has been announced for March 28, 2021 at the SoFi Stadium located in Inglewood, California. However, if the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t ease up by then, there is a chance that the California state government’s restrictions on large gatherings might impact the show.
The SoFi stadium has already announced the cancellation of the grand opening events on July 25th and July 26th, including the concerts from Taylor Swift. According to a report by WrestleVotes, WWE has begun looking for an alternative site for WrestleMania 37, just in case the show can’t go on at the SoFi Stadium.
Given that WWE will be continuing most of their activity moving forward in Florida, where they have been declared an essential business, some reports are saying that WWE could be looking for venues in Florida.
WrestleMania 36 was originally supposed to be in Tampa, Florida but due to quarantine and travel restrictions put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19, it was decided that the show would be pre-taped without an audience.
WrestleMania 36 was broadcast over two days and taped in and around the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Until the restrictions on travel and mass gatherings are eased, the WWE will be continuing to tape Raw, SmackDown, and NXT at the Performance Center.
