WWE Looking to Sign Soccer Player Adebayo Akinfenwa

It was revealed recently that WWE is on the lookout for fresh talents for their NXT UK brand, and seems like the company is bringing in a popular face from UKs soccer circles, Adebayo Akinfewa.

The 38-year-old spoke to talkSport recently and revealed that he is in contact with WWE over a possible deal. He said that WWE offered him a deal in 2019, and he is going to call them back regarding this offer pretty soon.

Akinfewa is unwilling to commit to anything, as he is still playing association football in the second division, but he is really passionate about a career inside the squared circle.

“I’ve had a couple of calls recently in regards to that. I’ll be following up on that soon – so it could go up or down depending on the outcome of that.”

“I can’t tell you a direct percentage in terms of that [coming to fruition], but it’s something I’m really passionate about, so watch this space, people.”

Akinfewa is a highly popular figure due to his beasty built, which makes him stand apart from other footballers. WWE has brought in several NFL and Rugby players into their roster before, so Akinfewa shouldn’t come as a surprise.
