Fans of WWE in India will be able to access the WWE Network exclusively through SonyLIV.
WWE has officially relaunched the Network in India with an exclusive partner, SonyLIV. Fans will need to download the SonyLIV app on their mobile devices or go to sonyliv.com and register for the WWE Network there. SonyLIV can also be accessed on Smart TV.
For the price of Rs.299 a year, which is equivalent to $4.10, subscribers will have access to live and on-demand content from WWE, including pay-per-view events.
WrestleMania 37 will be made available to the Indian audience through SonyLIV.
“We are excited to bring the entire portfolio of WWE action exclusively only on SonyLIV,” said Amogh Dusad, Head of Programming & New Initiatives and Digital Business for Sony Pictures Network India.
“There is a loyal fanbase for WWE in India and emerging as the sole platform to host archive matches and their latest action will give us a chance to expand our user base,” he added.
The WWE Network launched in India back in November 2015. However, it was briefly made unavailable earlier this year. The reason for this was that WWE has sold their rights to Sony in India.
Previous Indian subscribers to the Network received notifications that their subscriptions were not going to be renewed and that the Network would re-launch with SonyLIV.
This was part of the new five-year deal that WWE and Sony Pictures Network India signed in March 2020.
