WWE NXT: Matt Riddle Defeats Ricochet, RAW & SmackDown Women Invade

Matt Riddle Defeats Ricochet

Kona Reeves was scheduled to face Matt Riddle but there was a sudden change of plans when Ricochet took The Finest out of the equation and forced his way into the match.

Riddle had the upper hand as Ricochet struggled to make a comeback. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura ran in for interference but were quickly thrown off the apron. The King of Bros seized the opportunity and locked The One And Only in a crucifix pinning combination to score the pinfall.

Post-match, the SmackDown Superstars returned for a fight but Riddle and Cesaro teamed up to fight them off. Ricochet made Cesaro retreat but Riddle got caught by a 360 hook kick from Nakamura. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong made the save on an attempted Kinshasa.

Suddenly, Finn Balor ran in to assault Riddle but the latter quickly turned things around with a Final Flash.

RAW & SmackDown Women Invade NXT

NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray squared off with Dakota Kai ahead of their face-off this Saturday at TakeOver: WarGames. The match was below average and neither woman could bring out her very best in the ring.

Following the match, Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Dana Brooke from SmackDown led an invasion by attacking Ray and Kai in the ring. Soon, the entire NXT women’s roster, except the Horsewomen, came out to defend their territory. Natalya, Kairi Sane and Sarah Logan from RAW ran in to make a statement.

The RAW trio seemed to have the upper hand but Nikki Cross came through with a trash can lid and cleared house. Amidst all this drama, Io Shirai and Sane had a brief staredown – a pretty interesting moment considering the fact that both women are avid heels at present.
