WWE NXT: New Year’s Evil Matches Announced, Dexter Lumis to Host

WWE announced the New Year’s Evil special of NXT a few weeks ago and announced a few bouts set to headline the first show of the new year.

Dexter Lumis was revealed to be the host of the upcoming 2021 kickoff event, and he even created some of his trademark art to celebrate the announcement.

After Kyle O’Reilly and Pete Dunne’s confrontation last week, the two men faced off in a number one contender’s match on NXT. O’Reilly came out on top, and will once again challenge Finn Balor for the NXT Championship.

O’Reilly and Balor faced off at Takeover 31, with Balor winning a hard-fought contest. However, both men suffered injuries during the match which delayed the second installment of their encounter.

Karrion Kross returned from injury last week and immediately set his eyes on former North American Champion Damian Priest.

Kross defeated Desmond Troy in a squash match on this week’s episode and immediately sent out a message to Priest. A match between the two behemoths was announced for New Year’s Evil show.
