WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley appeared on the black and gold brand of WWE, as they defended their recently won belts against Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart in the main event this week.

Banks and Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross on SmackDown to win the titles, with Bayley becoming a dual champion.

The match was a hotly contested encounter with the NXT stars giving the former NXT Women Champions a run for their money. The match ended after a distraction from Bayley allowed Banks to apply the Banks Statement on Blackheart for the submission victory.

The duo will now face The IIconics on Monday Night RAW next week. The IIconics ended the first reign of the duo back at WrestleMania 35.

Post-match, NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai attacked the celebrating tag team champions and delivered knees to both the stars.

Shirai cleared the ring and raised her title in the ring to assert her dominance. Banks and Bayley regrouped on the ramp and looked on as the leader of the NXT Women’s Division celebrated alone.

Banks recently mentioned a possible move to NXT, and how she will elevate the stars on Wednesday night in a better fashion than Charlotte Flair. Shirai’s attack could set up a possible match with The Boss for the title.
