WWE NXT Takeover ‘In Your House’ Announced, New Tag Team Champions Crowned

Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg appeared on this week’s NXT and announced the next NXT Takeover PPV. The Hall of Famers brought back the famous In Your House concept for the NXT brand, and NXT Takeover: In Your House will be airing from the Full Sail University on June 7, on the WWE Network.

The In Your House concept was a fun concept, that became incredibly popular in the late 90s. The first-ever In Your House PPV took place from Syracuse, NY, exactly twenty years ago, where Diesel defeated Sycho Sid in the main event.

Triple H talked about the current COVID-19 situation, and how everyone is locked inside their homes, which was a perfect time to return with this PPV.

WWE released an official announcement shortly after and said the black-and-gold brand will surely be putting their own spin to this iconic PPV. There were 27 In Your House events from 1995-1999, as WWE had introduced this shorter format of PPVs to compete with WCW.

Another major news coming out of this week’s episode of NXT is the crowning of new Tag-Team Champions. Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher’s entertaining run as the make-shift duo came to an end after Imperium defeated them to capture their first titles.

Thatcher walked out on Riddle during the match, leaving him all alone against the hard-hitting NXT UK stars. Riddle and Thatcher had a brawl backstage after the match and later had a singles match in the main event.

Thatcher won the matchup and continued to brutally attack the Original Bro as the show went off the air.
