WWE’s third brand, NXT is going to be airing live in Canada starting this week.
WWE and Sportsnet have announced that they have come to a new programming agreement, which will include live weekly broadcasts of NXT.
Beginning this week, NXT will air live in Canada on Sportsnet 360 and SN NOW on Wednesdays at 8 PM ET.
In a press release, WWE’s Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H, said that they were thrilled to expand their Sportsnet agreement to bring NXT to Canadian fans. He also Tweeted about the deal on his official account.
“Reinforcing our already robust slate of live WWE programming with NXT was an easy choice and one our audiences have been asking for,” said Sportsnet’s Vice-President of Programming Greg Sansone.
“We can’t wait to see the newest generation of Superstars live in action every Wednesday night,” added Sansone.
WWE and Sportsnet originally signed a 10-year broadcast agreement in 2014. This agreement made Sportsnet the exclusive distributor of WWE programming in Canada till 2024.
Sportsnet 360 also broadcasts other weekly WWE programs, including Raw, SmackDown, Main Event, and This Week In WWE. Sportsnet is also the exclusive distribution partner for the WWE Network in Canada.
