Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam last Sunday night where he sent quite the message to Braun Strowman and The Fiend when it comes to the Universal Championship.
Reigns was given the chance to challenge for the title he never lost at Payback in a No Holds Barred Triple Threat match that also included Strowman and Bray Wyatt and still found a way to walk out with the title.
Heading into the match, Paul Heyman and Reigns claimed that they wanted to make changes to the contract and the match then started without The Big Dog since The Monster Among Men jump-started the match following The Fiend’s entrance.
The two men brawled in the ring before a super-plex broke the ring and allowed Reigns to finally make his way out to pick the bones out of his opponents.
Reigns signed the contract of the match on the ramp before running down to the ring and looking to pick up the win.
After the attempted pins didn’t work, Reigns low-blowed The Fiend to break off The Mandible Claw before hitting the spear on Strowman to win his second Universal Championship.
The Fiend wasn’t included in the pin which means that he still looks strong, and there will be a showdown between the two men in the near future.
Clash of Champions is now just four weeks away and with three Championship changes tonight, there could be some interesting feuds built up ahead of next month’s show.
