Evolution is now merely four weeks away and the match announcements are coming thick and fast, even though there are only three matches officially on the card for the show right now, excluding the Mae Young Classic final, WWE could be set to announce another huge match for the show in the coming weeks.

According to WrestlingNewsCo, their sources have confirmed that WWE is set to announce a Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament which will run for a number of weeks heading into the pay-per-view, where the first ever Champions will be crowned.

The site goes on to confirm that this is why WWE has put an emphasis on women’s tag teams on Raw, SmackDown and NXT over the past few weeks because all brands will be eligible to be part of this tournament.

There are a number of teams on the main roster and on NXT right now when it comes to contenders for the Tag Team Championships including The Bella Twins, The Riott Squad, Absolution, Naomi and Asuka, The IIconics and even Natalya and Ronda Rousey.

Tag Team Championships have been a huge thing for the women of WWE when it comes to the Women’s Revolution, which is why this would be a huge announcement for all the women in the company, since this would be the first time in the history that they have had more than two Championships to fight for.

The company could make the announcement as early as tonight on Raw, but the announcement is actually expected to be made following Australia’s Super Show-Down event in less than two weeks time so that WWE isn’t overlapping their women’s storylines in the coming weeks.
