WWE Planning Mixed Tag Team Match For SummerSlam

Over the past few weeks, Lana and Zelina Vega have collided in a WWE ring on SmackDown Live, with Vega picking up back to back wins because of interference from Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas.

The week before Lana and Vega first collided in a WWE ring, Almas was able to pick up the win over Rusev thanks to a distraction from Aiden English.

The issues between Rusev, Lana, and English have been bubbling around in the background whilst the husband and wife duo also have to contend with Almas and Vega.

This week Vega picked up the win once again because Aiden English came down to the ring even though he was asked not to and tried to help Rusev to fight off Almas but this backfired and he actually knocked Lana off the top rope and cost her the match.

It is thought that with just one episode of SmackDown to go until SummerSlam, this situation will build into a mixed Tag Team match which will mean that Vega will be given her first pay-per-view match in WWE after months of working as a manager for Almas.

Joe Peisich said on the most recent episode of Barn Burner’s  No Holds Barred Podcast that the company currently has some plans for these four stars at SummerSlam since this match has been building over the past few weeks.

“We’re going to see a mixed tag match between Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega up against Rusev and Lana as a mixed-tag at SummerSlam,” he said via RingSideNews.

Last night on SmackDown, Daniel Bryan’s match against The Miz and The New Day vs The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship were made official.
