Dolph Ziggler challenges his former friend Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules: Horror Show next month, but their Championship match took quite the swerve this week on Raw.
After the two men signed the contracts for the match at the top of the show, McIntyre showed how confident he was about the upcoming match by handing the decision when it came to the stipulation.
Extreme Rules has always been a pay-per-view that has included gimmick matches and there are many that Ziggler could choose from. It was thought that The Showoff would announce the stipulation after he was victorious in this week’s main event, but that wasn’t the case.
There are many stipulations that Ziggler could choose from including one where the title could be forced to change hands via DQ, but it’s likely to be a no-DQ match which then allows for interference in his favor.
Ziggler teamed with Sasha Banks to take on Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and McIntyre ahead of their respective showdowns on July 19th and interestingly Banks was able to reverse the Asuka Lock into a win for her team’s victory.
Ziggler was completely dominated throughout the match and given his current character he’s expected to announce a stipulation that helps him secure the victory and his first WWE Championship.
