Elimination Chamber is just under two weeks away and it appears that the build-up to the show has now officially begun.
This week’s show kicked off with WWE Official Adam Pearce announcing that there would be an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at the show of the same name next weekend.
Shane McMahon returned to Raw to be part of the announcement where Pearce revealed that all of the challengers inside the Chamber are former World Champions.
It was revealed that Randy Orton, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, and AJ Styles would make up the field for the Chamber match on February 21st.
McIntyre obviously wasn’t happy with the decision and approached Shane McMahon backstage to confront him regarding the announcement.
It was here that McMahon made it clear that this was big news and that McIntyre wanted to be a fighting Champion so he has the chance to prove that inside the structure in less than two weeks’ time.
Sheamus turned on Drew McIntyre last week on Raw after years of friendship with the Scottish star, and it was believed that he would be handed a Championship shot in the near future.
It’s also interesting to note the obvious absence of Braun Strowman in the match when The Miz has been handed another opportunity despite being Mr. Money in the Bank.
