WWE Champion Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19 in the build-up to last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, which has since prevented the Scottish star from being part of the show
Instead, McIntyre announced that he accepted Goldberg’s Royal Rumble challenge via a pre-recorded video and WWE announced that their Champion was in quarantine.
It appears that McIntyre’s quarantine could be set to come to an end soon, since the Scottish star made another appearance via a pre-recorded video this week on Raw to announce his return.
McIntyre stated that he enjoyed the segment that included a version of himself on The Dirt Sheet, before warning The Miz and John Morrison that he would be making his return next week.
The Dirt Sheet also featured the return of the popular Goldberg impersonator, Gillberg, to WWE. Gillberg suffered a heart attack last year but that didn’t stop the “legend” from entertaining the WWE Universe.
McIntyre also called out his Royal Rumble opponent Goldberg and told him that if he wanted to get a head start on their unfinished business then he knows where he will be next week.
It was later announced in the show that Goldberg will be on Raw next week, so he could once again come face to face with the WWE Champion.
Next week’s episode of Raw is the final show ahead of the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view and with several unanswered questions still looming ahead of the show, it will be interesting to see if any of these questions are wrapped up before the first pay-per-view of the year.
