Kairi Sane hasn’t been seen on Raw in a number of weeks after the former Women’s Tag Team Champion suffered a head injury in her match against Nia Jax ahead of Backlash.

The Wrestling Observer reported that Sane’s contract status was complicated at present but it appeared that the Japanese star was heading back to her native country as an ambassador for WWE.

This week on Raw, Sane returned to the show to help her Kabuki Warriors partner Asuka as she took on Sasha Banks.

Bayley and Banks have been taking advantage of the numbers game over the past few weeks and looked to send a message to The Empress of Tomorrow ahead of her match against Bayley for the Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules.

Even though Asuka came out, the match between The Empress and Bayley was pushed back to later in the show, and instead Sane was on hand to take on Banks.

Luckily, Asuka had a plan of her own to avoid becoming another victim as Kairi Sane made her way down to the ring and took on The Blueprint. The Japanese star has been sidelined through injury over the past few weeks but didn’t miss a beat in her match with The Boss this week, which was one of the highlights of the show.

This was the first time that Sane and Banks had met in a one-on-one match in WWE and The Pirate Princess was about to pick up the win via submission when she locked in The Anchor but Bayley saw her friend in danger and ran in to cause the DQ.

The match then descended into chaos as all four women battled outside the ring before Sane dropped an elbow on the outside and took out the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
