Kevin Owens hasn’t been seen since his win over Seth Rollins back at WrestleMania in April but the former Universal Champion was on hand this week on Raw to look at the issues between Austin Theory, Andrade and Angel Garza.
Ahead of the segment, Natalya’s frustration following her loss meant that she destroyed the set, but the show still went ahead and The KO Show made its return. Owens revealed that he was banged up following WrestleMania which is why he has been missing over the past few weeks, but he was now ready to return and get back on track.
The KO Show came to an abrupt halt when Apollo Crews was announced as Owens’ other guest on the show and he made a bee-line for Andrade, the man who cost him his place in the Money in the Bank ladder match a few weeks ago. Crews and Owens then teamed together to take on Andrade and Garza in Owens’ first match since WrestleMania.
Austin Theory inadvertently cost his team the match when he hit Angel Garza from the outside, which then led to Garza and Andrade beating him down following the match and kicking him out of their group.
Zelina Vega seemed to cheer on the whole beat down, Theory was still at ringside when Aleister Black took on Buddy Murphy which allowed Seth Rollins to recruit Theory and inspire him to help Murphy in his match against Black.
The IIconics returned to Raw after a lengthy hiatus last week and were able to get under the skin of the Women’s Tag Team Championships. In a non-title match, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were able to come out on top over Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross and were looking for the same result this week on Raw when they were handed the Championship match that they desired.
Billie Kay looked to have been pinned by Alexa Bliss following Twisted Bliss before Royce was able to break up the three count but her attack on Bliss once again proved that there is a new rule in play in WWE since the former Tag Team Champion forced the disqualification.
Royce refused to stop throwing Bliss into the ring post while she was the illegal superstar in the match, which meant that the referee was left with no choice but to call for the bell. Following the match, Kay was upset that the duo had thrown away their opportunities at the title and slapped her long time friend out of frustration. The two women hugged afterward, but this could be a tease of something bigger to come for the former high school best friends.
