The feud between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens has defined Monday Night Raw over the past few months and has involved a number of other stars including The Big Show, Samoa Joe, and The Viking Raiders, but it appears that this will be a feud that is settled in a one-on-one competition since Kevin Owens accepted Seth Rollins’ challenge this week on Raw.
The Monday Night Messiah stated that he was open to any match at any time with the former Universal Champion and Kevin Owens revealed this week in a backstage segment that he would wrestle Rollins at The Performance Center on April 5th at WrestleMania.
The announcement would have been very different if WrestleMania was able to go ahead in Tampa Bay on April 5th, but Owens had a nice story about how it was the place that he was accepted into the WWE family where he earned his place in the company so it was the perfect place to face Seth Rollins.
It was also the place where Kevin Owens was made and he stated that it would mean much more to him if he was able to defeat Rollins on his own turf. It’s interesting that Rollins gave Owens any time or place but there was no added stipulation, but it appears that this could be a match that is heavily jarred by interference.
While The Prize Fighter vs The Monday Night Messiah was made official tonight on Raw, it’s still unknown what Murphy and The AOP will be doing at WrestleMania in less than three weeks’ time.
It’s the third match to be made official tonight since Edge laid down the challenge for Randy Orton at WrestleMania as a Last Man Standing match, and Undertaker signed the contract for his match with AJ Styles which made their match official for April 5th historic WrestleMania show.
