WWE Raw: Mickie James Returns to Monday Night Raw, New 24/7 Champion Crowned

Mickie James hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since 2019 and it was reported that the former six-time Women’s Champion’s contract expired in January. Since James re-signed with WWE in January 2017, this makes sense if the star signed a three-year deal, but her contract status is currently unknown.

While James has been away from WWE TV, the former Champion has been providing commentary on WWE Main Event, but it appears that she could be set to make her in-ring return to Monday Night Raw after a backstage altercation with Natalya and Lana.

Mickie appeared in a backstage segment where her return was announced before she stated that she was excited to make a huge announcement, but was then interrupted by Lana and Nattie who were dressed in matching outfits and pointed out that James couldn’t run the Women’s Locker room without a TikTok.

James then clapped back at the remarks and made it clear that Natalya had been able to ride her family’s coattails, before telling the two women that she would see them next week.

It’s interesting that James is back since there are still many women on Raw who aren’t being used, but a return to action for the former Women’s Champion can only mean that good things are to come.

It was later confirmed by WWE on Twitter that Mickie would be returning to the ring against Nattie next week.

Akira Tozawa and three of his ninjas took on The Viking Raiders, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet following the announcement with Truth dressed up as one of the ninja’s and it was the face team who came out on top.

After the match, Tozawa ran up the ramp after the referee but he wasn’t aware that Truth was behind him dressed like a ninja and he then rolled him up to win his 38th 24/7 Championship.
