This week on Raw, MVP and Bobby Lashley unveiled the new United States Championship despite the fact that Apollo Crews is the current Champion. Crews was brushed aside by the duo last week and wasn’t on hand to unveil the Championship so MVP thought it as his duty.
It was a good way to put some heel heat on the team as MVP looked to Bobby Lashley to crown him as the new Champion since he had already beaten Apollo Crews.
The former two-time Champion was about to put the title around his waist before Ricochet and Cedric Alexander made their way to the ring and challenged them to a match.
Despite being on top for the best part of the match, it was MVP and Lashley who picked up the victory ahead of their Championship match on July 19th after The Almighty delivered an incredible spear to Cedric Alexander.
After the match, Lashley attacked Alexander and locked in The Full Nelson until Ricochet made the save.
Ahead of the new Championship unveil, it was revealed that Apollo Crews would be defending the Championship against MVP in less than two weeks’ time as part of The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
It’s unknown as to whether or not Bobby Lashley will be allowed to be at ringside to add some support for his manager throughout the match since The Almighty would definitely be a difference-maker.
