The fourth annual Women’s Royal Rumble match will take place on January 31st, with the winner going on to challenge a female Champion of their choice at WrestleMania.
In the past, Asuka has challenged SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte, while Becky Lynch challenged Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, and earlier this year, Charlotte Flair chose to take on NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.
The Women’s Royal Rumble winner already has an impressive success rate since only Asuka has come up short in her quest for gold, so a Championship could await this year’s winner.
The show is now just over a month away and while Daniel Bryan became the first entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match last week on SmackDown, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler officially entered the women’s match on Raw.
Jax made it clear that she was coming for that Championship shot at WrestleMania, before her tag team partner then stated that she thought that was a good idea, while not officially declaring her participation.
The Submission Magician was one of the favorites to pick up the victory in this year’s Rumble, so it will be interesting to see if she can defy the odds in next year’s match.
