Randy Orton has had quite the year and The Viper decided to kick off the new year by announcing his participation in the 2021 Royal Rumble match.
Orton has already won the match on two separate occasions back in 2009 and 2017 and could join Steve Austin in the history books as the only stars to have won three Rumble matches.
Orton was believed to be facing The Fiend in a Firefly Fun House match at The Rumble, but while this could still be the plan, it appears that Orton wants to fight for his chance to lift his 15th World Championship as well.
The Viper declared his place in the match as part of a backstage segment with WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, where The World’s Strongest Man was seen with a knee scooter following foot surgery.
Orton belittled the WWE legend since he was unable to fight Orton and was left to slowly wheel himself away. The Legend Killer spent the night going after WWE legends following conversations with the likes of The Big Show and Ric Flair as well.
The Viper joins AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and United States Champion Bobby Lashley in the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble match.
