It was reported earlier today that Randy Orton had suffered a legitimate knee injury at a recent live event Hersey, Pennsylvania and would be forced to question his future on Raw. The Viper came to the ring on crutches and teased retirement before he was interrupted and belittled by AJ Styles.
The two men have had their own issues over the past few weeks but after Styles told Orton that he would have to wait until WrestleMania for a match, The Viper responded by stating that he didn’t want to wait before RKOing Styles out of his boots and revealing that the whole thing was a ruse.
While Styles and Orton are expected to collide inside the 30-man Rumble match in three weeks’ time, next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW is building up to be one that could see in the new year in style. For fans in the United Kingdom, there is a change of Network that comes along with the new year since WWE recently ended their lengthy deal with Sky Sports and announced the move over to BT Sport.
Next week’s RAW will be the first one of 2020 and the first-ever Raw on BT Sport and there are a number of high profile matches including Andrade vs. Rey Mysterio in a rematch for the United States Championship and The Street Profits vs. The Viking Raiders vs. The OC for the RAW Tag Team Championships after Dawkins and Ford were able to pick up the win over The OC earlier tonight.
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will also return to the show ahead of The Royal Rumble, where he is expected to defend his Championship for the first time since his successful defense against Mysterio back at Survivor Series. WWE has definitely made next week’s episode of RAW an unmissable way to kick off the new year.
