WWE Raw: Randy Orton Wins Triple Threat Main Event, Earns Title Shot at Clash of Champions

Randy Orton was unable to get past Drew McIntyre back at SummerSlam since the WWE Champion was able to defeat Orton with a backslide before The Viper sent a message the following night on Raw when he put McIntyre out of action following three Punt Kicks.

Despite his issues with McIntyre, Orton wasn’t automatically given another shot at the WWE Championship, and instead, he had to earn it this week on Raw by getting past Kevin Owens and then competing in a triple threat main event match.

Aleister Black helped The Legend Killer to easily overcome the threat of Owens before Orton was able to pin Seth Rollins following a Spirit Bomb from Keith Lee in the main event.

Lee and Rollins qualified for the main event after defeating Dolph Ziggler and Dominik Mysterio respectively to earn their place in the match, but both came up short in favor of Orton.

The Legend Killer will now fight Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Clash of Champions, providing the Champion is medically cleared to compete.

The latest update from The Scottish star was that he didn’t suffer a fractured skull, instead it was a hairline fracture to his jaw, which means that he could be back on-screen in time to gain his own retribution against Randy Orton on September 27th.
