Ricochet took on Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins in the main event of this week’s episode of RAW, with the winner being handed a WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia when WWE travels to the Middle East on February 27th.
In recent weeks, Ricochet and Brock Lesnar have had a number of altercations, with Lesnar low blowing Ricochet on an episode of RAW, before it was the former United States Champion who helped Drew McIntyre to eliminate Lesnar from the Royal Rumble last weekend when he delivered a low blow before the Claymore Kick.
This technically should have made Lesnar and Ricochet even, since they have both now low-blowed each other, but since he was able to pick up the win in tonight’s triple threat match as part of RAW’s main event means that the two men will collide one-on-one in Saudi Arabia.
Ricochet has never won the WWE Championship or even come close to it, so even though this is set to be a very one-sided match, it’s a huge step for him. Interestingly, following the match tonight on RAW, Brock Lesnar ran out to F5 his challenger, which shows that The Beast is obviously worried about the threat that the master of the 630 possesses.
It’s highly unlikely that Ricochet will dethrone the WWE Champion, but if he does then Drew McIntyre will face Ricochet at WrestleMania instead.
Other notable news coming out of RAW includes the fact that Becky Lynch will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka next week as part of the show after she accepted The Empress of Tomorrow’s challenge earlier tonight.
Charlotte Flair will be present for this Wednesday’s episode of NXT as well since she has a challenge to answer after Rhea Ripley told The Queen to challenge her for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania instead of Becky Lynch and Bayley.
