WWE Raw: Samoa Joe Returns To Commentary, Women’s Triple Threat Match Fails To Get Underway

It’s been months since Samoa Joe has been seen on WWE TV since the Samoan Submission Machine was suspended for violating WWE’s Wellness Policy back in February. The former Champion suffered a concussion at the beginning of February while filming a commercial for WWE, where Joe fell and hit his head while going through a table, before then sitting out his suspension.

The most recent update regarding Joe a few days ago stated that the former NXT Champion was still struggling with injury, but he shockingly made his return tonight on Raw, as part of the commentary team alongside Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips.

In recent weeks, Jerry Lawler has asked to be part of Monday Night Raw despite being someone who should be self-isolated in the current situation, and WWE has allowed it, but it appears that the company has made the decision as part of this week’s pre-recorded episode to allow Samoa Joe to make his return on commentary instead.

One of the more surprising matches to be announced for this week’s episode of Raw was the triple threat match between all three women who will represent Monday Night Raw at Money in the Bank next weekend.

Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Asuka are all high on momentum at present with all three women easily being seen as the next Miss Money in the Bank, so this match would have ended someone’s run of fortune.

Impressively, WWE booked this match to perfection with Asuka beginning by pointing out that she has already defeated Nia Jax in the past, and Baszler then went straight after the former Women’s Tag Team Champion and a brawl on the outside between all three women meant that the match was unable to get underway officially.

This means that all three women have been able to prove that there is no love lost between them while also all being able to retain their momentum heading into next week’s match.
