The WWE 24/7 Title boasts of a lengthy list of ex-champions that includes a couple of mainstream pop culture celebrities. Now, Santa Claus has embedded his name on the championship gold as Christmas draws near.
On the Christmas Eve Eve episode of Monday Night RAW, R-Truth was looking for Dwayne Johnson‘s Christmas party at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. A tourist read Truth’s Japanese invitation card and informed him that there wasn’t any such Rock party in the complex.
Suddenly, Akira Toazwa snuck up from behind and rolled Truth up for a successful pinfall to become the new 24/7 Champion. The chase continued as the Japanese star tried to escape by hiding behind some Christmas trees. Then Saint Nicholas showed up and made the decision to settle things between the two.
Santa Claus asked R-Truth to check his sleigh for his gift to and the latter complied. Old Saint Nick then baited Tozawa and hit him with his big red sack to score the pinfall. Newly crowned champion Santa quickly fled as the two Superstars pursued him.
After a relentless pursuit around NYC including a brief sleigh chase, Santa got tired and decided to lay down. R-truth seized the opportunity and pinned Father Christmas to reclaim the 24/7 Championship.
