Seth Rollins lost his WWE Championship match to Drew McIntyre last night at Money in the Bank and even though The Monday Night Messiah shook hands with the Champion following the match, it appears to have scarred him deeply.
He appeared this week on Raw in what looked like the same clothes that he wore yesterday and messed up hair, which made it appear as though he hadn’t slept since his loss. He teamed with Buddy Murphy against Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio but throughout the match, he remained catatonic at ringside.
Rey Mysterio even congratulated him on the news that he was expecting a child with fiancee Becky Lynch earlier in the show and Rollins seemingly brushed him off, remaining as a heel on WWE TV.
Mysterio was finally able to gain a reaction from Rollins when he elbowed him in the mid-section and knocked him off the apron. The Master of the 619 then went for his signature move on Murphy but he was caught by Rollins and then referee called for the disqualification.
The Monday Night Messiah told Murphy to stay back while he continued the attack on Mysterio and then took him over to the steel steps where he pushed the corner of them into his right eye.
Blood seeped out of Mysterio’s eye as medical staff headed to the ring to help the former World Champion before Rollins finally backed away. The cameras headed backstage where Mysterio was being evaluated by medical staff before Rollins entered and looked to deliver an apology by stating that he didn’t know what happened out there.
This latest chapter in the Rollins story has lead to a number of questions, most importantly, what caused this new state of mind and what does it now mean for Mysterio’s WWE future?
