Randy Orton’s assault on Ric Flair last week on Raw was enough to force two-time Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels out of the shadows so that he could deliver some home truths to The Legend Killer.
Michaels told Drew McIntyre not to intervene as part of a backstage segment earlier in the night, before heading to the ring to address Orton’s recent run on Raw.
Michaels talked about how Ric Flair inspired a number of current and former WWE stars including Orton before stating that The Viper would meet some justice this weekend at SummerSlam either from a Claymore or from a Sweet Chin Music and then turned to leave.
Orton was waiting in the wings and quickly delivered an RKO followed by a Punt Kick before McIntyre was able to run down to the ring and make the save.
Orton took advantage of the WWE Champion’s distraction as he looked to help Michaels to his feet and flag down the medical staff that were needed and the two men then brawled on the outside.
In the end, it was The Legend Killer who got the final say ahead of their showdown at SummerSlam when he hit McIntyre with an RKO to end the show.
