Ahead of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, there were reports that former MMA star Shayna Baszler would be stepping into Shane McMahon’s ropeless ring in Raw Underground.
It’s definitely an environment that would favor Baszler given her background and the star looked comfortable as she made the transition.
Baszler seemed to be stepping up to Dabba-Keto, to begin with, but when Shane McMahon told him to step back, there were no women prepared to step up and fight the former NXT Women’s Champion.
Baszler instead decided to find her own challengers and dragged a number of women into the makeshift ring and began to beat them in a three-on-one assault.
The women were not known to the WWE Universe and were obviously only there to put Baszler over, but it’s interesting to note that Baszler made it clear that this could be a future path for her.
With Nia Jax currently suspended for putting her hands on an official and Baszler not part of the Women’s Championship matches heading into SummerSlam, this could be a good way for The Queen of Spades to remain on WWE TV and continually show her dominance in an environment that has no rules.
