WWE Raw Superstar Robert Roode Open for NXT Return

Robert Roode recently returned to WWE programming after staying away from action for more than six months due to the lockdown restrictions between the USA and Canada.

Roode returned on RAW and took on Drew McIntyre in a WWE Championship match, and wasn’t able to take down his former foe from NXT.

Roode was interviewed by Comic Book recently, where he spoke about his surprise return and future prospects with the company. The former NXT Champion talked about a possible return to Wednesday nights and said he was completely open to the idea.

“NXT was a great spot for me. When I first came to WWE, I was able to be a part of that brand early on, and do my part and try to really grow that brand, and had the opportunity to be their champion, and to be on top, and to main event TakeOvers.”

“That was just a great experience and the brand itself has now grown even larger. So wherever the job takes me, I’m going to be there and I’m going to do everything I can to be a guy that the brand can lean on, and to be in the mix, and to take every opportunity that is given to me and make the best of it. So whether that’s on Raw, whether that’s on SmackDown, or whether that’s on NXT, I’m going to do everything I can to stand out and to work my way towards being a champion again.”

Roode had great passion while speaking about his former band, where he delivered great matches alongside several big-name stars, including McIntyre himself.

Roode was one of the two names rumored to return at Takeover 31, as a former NXT Champion was set to return. Fans wondered whether it will be Roode or Bo Dallas, but it eventually turned out to be former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon.
