Seth Rollins, Buddy Murphy, and AOP took on Kevin Owens the returning Samoa Joe and The Viking Raiders in this week’s main event after weeks of issues between the eight men. Both Ivar and Samoa Joe have suffered injuries in recent weeks and Rollins’ team is yet to be defeated at the hands of Owens or any of his team members, which was a streak that didn’t end tonight in Ontario, Canada.
It looked as though Samoa Joe was about to pick up the victory for his team when he locked in the Coquina Clutch on Buddy Murphy, but Rollins popped up and delivered a thunderous Curb Stomp to Joe which went on to cost his team the victory.
Rollins opened the show and once again closed it which shows how much WWE wants to push him as the Monday Night Messiah, but these on-going losses for Kevin Owens means that the story has no substance because Rollins, Murphy, and AOP are running away with the matches on a regular basis. WWE needs to give Owens, Joe and The Viking Raiders something to sink their teeth into in order for this feud to move in any direction.
Will these multi-person matches continue, or will these eight men be the ones locked inside The Elimination Chamber in less than a months’ time?
Super ShowDown takes place in less than three weeks’ time and this week on Raw it was officially announced that WWE would be holding another unique match as part of the show, a match called the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy Gauntlet Match.
The match announcement means that the WWE Universe is now aware that Andrade and AJ Styles will be making their WWE returns in Saudi Arabia. They will be part of a match that will also include Rusev, R-Truth, Rowan and Bobby Lashley and seemingly crown the first-ever Tuwaiq Champion.
