Charlotte Flair and Asuka won the Women’s Tag Team Championships back at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs back in December. The Queen made her WWE return to team with the RAW Women’s Champion to overcome the threat of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
Despite Charlotte Flair already announcing her participation in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, The Queen announced that she would be pulling double duty at Royal Rumble when she and Asuka defend their Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Charlotte’s match against Shayna Baszler ended in disqualification before a six-woman tag match ended with a count-out when Baszler was unable to make the count.
Nia Jax later picked up the win for her team when the match was restarted by Adam Pearce and the former Champion defeated Dana Brooke with a leg drop.
Charlotte Flair and Asuka would defend on Sunday night, and WWE.com reported that former Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax would be the opponents.
Baszler and Jax were looking for their rematch last week on Raw and will now be forced to pull double duty at Royal Rumble since both women are also set to be part of the Women’s Royal Rumble match later in the night.
