Last night’s Monday Night Raw contained a number of returns as well as some character changes, which could be why reports are now suggesting that there were a number of issues when it came to finalizing the Raw script.
Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer Tweeted out late last night to reveal that the script was only finalized just four minutes before the show went on air on the USA Network, this was definitely a time crunch situation since if the company had waited any longer then they would have still been writing while the show was on air.
Last night’s Raw saw Bray Wyatt return to WWE TV as the host of The Firefly Funhouse even though fans in the United Kingdom were unable to see the segment due to a glitch by Sky Sports.
Alicia Fox also returned to the company after months on the sidelines as she took on dual Champion Becky Lynch while two tag teams fell at the hands of the Superstar Shake-up as Ricochet remained on Raw without Aleister Black and Cesaro made his re-debut on the brand without Sheamus.
The Viking Experience debuted their new names as The Viking Raiders and Bobby Roode debuted a mustache and made it clear that he would now be known as Robert Roode.
It was an interesting episode of the show that obviously took a number of re-writes to ensure that all new characters and debutants were well received.
The build-up to Money in the Bank also began as AJ Styles was confirmed as Seth Rollins opponent on May 19th, a singles match between the two stars that hasn’t taken place for more than a decade and has never taken place on WWE TV.
