Trish Stratus and Lita made their return to the ring at Evolution this past Sunday night, where they were victorious over Mickie James and Alicia Fox, before following this up with a 10-woman tag team match on Monday Night Raw.
This seemingly wasn’t just a one-off though, since PWInsider is reporting that WWE could have huge plans for the WWE Hall of Famers at next year’s WrestleMania 35.
WWE has been handing out “We Want Women’s Tag Championship” signs over the past few weeks and they are expected to be added to the show in the coming months, so it’s highly likely that Stratus and Lita are being kept around so that they can be part of the Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania.
There are a number of female tag teams on the main roster right now including The Riott Squad, Sasha Banks and Bayley, The IIconics, Asuka and Naomi and even Mickie James and Alexa Bliss which means that Trish and Lita will definitely have their work cut out if they are hoping to become Champions on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
“We’ve heard that beginning of next year there are plans for them. There was an early plan for them for WrestleMania. There was talk of Lita and Trish in a big tag match for WrestleMania,” said Mike Johnson via WrestlingNews.co.
Both women showed off their new t-shirts on Monday Night Raw which shows that they have been given new merchandise and reports suggest that there will be more where that came from.
Stratus and Lita are considered to be two of the best female wrestlers in the history of WWE and when it comes to introducing new Championships to the Women’s Division, they would be the perfect anchors for the belts.
