TMZ Sports recently reported Hulk Hogan getting one step closer to finally returning to WWE, and the wrestling promotion giant has commented on The Hulkster’s current status.
It was reported that high-ranking WWE officials and Hogan have been in contact and both parties want to assure that Hogan’s return to WWE is done “the right way.” TMZ Sports further noted that WWE also paid close attention to Hogan’s induction speech at the Boys & Girls Club’s alumni Hall of Fame ceremony earlier this week, where he spoke about lending a helping hand to kids and not making the same mistakes twice.
WWE issued a statement about the story:
WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE.
It is to be noted that WWE fired Hogan in July, 2015 following a racist rant where The Hulkster used the n-lettered word numerous times.
It is also reported that a member of the Saudi Royal Family requested for Hogan to participate on the April 27th Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but the 12-time World Champion eventually didn’t work the show.
