WWE’s plans for a Pirate-based WrestleMania 36 in Tampa Bay, Florida, were quashed after the pandemic hit, forcing the company to resort to different solutions.
With no end for the viral pandemic in sight, WWE is planning to move the WrestleMania 37 show out of Los Angeles, California. The show was set to be a Hollywood themed event but plans have changed.
WrestleVotes reports that WWE is indeed planning to move the show to Tampa Bay, Florida, but are not willing to disclose the plans due to their contractual obligations with the state of California.
WWE reportedly issued an official statement to these rumors and said that they are not in a position to disclose anything at this point.
The State of Florida has greatly helped WWE in the pandemic era, allowing them to run events by making sports “essential business”. With Florida completely opening up the state right now, a WrestleMania event in the state could be a guaranteed way of bringing in fans.
