Bayley was forced to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship this week on SmackDown against Carmella after the Princess of Staten Island won a shot at the title she has previously held on two occasions last Friday night.

The show kicked off with A Moment of Bliss and Carmella pointing out the fact that she was once good friends with Bayley until Sasha Banks came along and the Women’s Champion seemingly lost touch with Carmella and the two women have been at odds ever since.

Bayley found the entire promo cringeworthy and headed out to address Carmella, who decided to challenge Bayley to a match to kick off the show. The match was much more competitive than many fans would have expected and only ended when Bayley decided to use the ropes to her advantage to cheat the pinfall.

When Bayley attacked Carmella following her victory, Naomi made the save and the two women then attacked Bayley which has now opened the door to another Women’s Elimination Chamber match this year. Bayley has enough enemies to make the match happen since she already pointed out her issues with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross at the top of the show. This means that there would be just one slot left in the match that could be taken by a returning Sasha Banks to set up Banks vs Bayley at WrestleMania 36.

Bayley was obviously frustrated following the beatdown and headed backstage where she made the announcement that she would once again be defending her Women’s Championship for the first time at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on February 27th.

Although Bayley didn’t make it clear who she would be defending her Women’s Championship against, WWE has now officially announced that Carmella and Naomi will go one-on-one next week to determine Bayley’s Women’s Title opponent who will be making history in the Middle East.
