Asuka will make her SummerSlam debut this weekend when she takes on both Bayley and Sasha Banks in separate matches for the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships.
The Empress of Tomorrow won her chance to be part of both matches, but in recent weeks the two women have struggled to decide who should defend their title first as part of SummerSlam.
Even though Bayley stated that she would take on The Empress first on RAW, Corey Graves was able to get into the two women’s heads this week on SmackDown and after Naomi volunteered herself for two matches, The Boss and Bayley looked to Beat The Clock in order to decide who would go first.
Banks was able to force Naomi to tap in under four minutes before Bayley looked to attack Naomi before their match even started.
This didn’t give Bayley the advantage that she hoped for and it was the former SmackDown Women’s Champion who managed to come out on top.
This means that Bayley will be the one stepping in the ring with Asuka first this weekend, it also means that if Bayley is victorious then Naomi will be waiting for her on SmackDown.
Interestingly, this segment also pushed forward the tension between Bayley and Banks, since The Boss laughed at Bayley after her loss to Naomi.
