Braun Strowman returned to Friday Night SmackDown last week and it appears that The Monster Among Men has targetted the Intercontinental Championship after picking up a feud against Shinsuke Nakamura.

This week on SmackDown, Strowman teamed up with Kofi Kingston and Big E to take on Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro and while this seemed as though it was another filler match following the festive period, it was actually a way for WWE to push forward the rivalry between Strowman and Nakamura after The Monster Among Men was able to pick up the victory by pinning the Intercontinental Champion.

With the Royal Rumble now right around the corner, this could be a hint that Strowman will be challenging for the title as part of the show.

Later in the night, Mandy Rose took on Carmella and ahead of the match she was seen backstage questioning her best friend Sonya Deville when it came to whether or not she would be at ringside for her match.

Deville asked Rose where she was last week when she lost to Carmella on SmackDown and Rose stated that she couldn’t head out to the ring because she was covered in Otis‘ sweat after the star hugged her for giving him a ham for Christmas.

Deville said she would hand out some programs and then make her way out to the ring with Rose ahead of her match, but she never actually appeared and Rose lost the match to The Princess of Staten Island following a superkick.

Given the fact that Rose has now stepped into an interesting story with Otis which could become a romance angle, could Deville be jealous, after all, it’s been well documented that Deville wanted a lesbian storyline with Rose so this could lead to something huge in the SmackDown Women’s Division?
