Goldberg appeared this week on Friday Night SmackDown where he revealed that he watched the Royal Rumble and gave him the “itch” to return to the ring and he stated that because Brock Lesnar had his hands full with Ricochet and Drew McIntyre, he turned his attention to the Universal Championship.
Of course, this is a title that Goldberg has held in the past, but he lost it to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 and then walked away from the company for a number of months, which meant that he never actually got his rematch.
This is one of the main reasons why Goldberg decided to set his sights on The Fiend Bray Wyatt. The segment was interupted by Fun House Bray Wyatt who tried to warn Goldberg all about him and why he shouldn’t get involved with The Fiend but he refused to listen to his mind games and made it official by claiming that Wyatt and his Universal Championship was next.
The match was made official but it wasn’t revealed where the match would take place, but it’s believed to be in Saudi Arabia at Super ShowDown on February 27th.
Another match that was announced on SmackDown was a rematch from the Royal Rumble as Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin once again face off but this time in a steel cage. The two men seemingly ended their feud last week when Corbin was the man forced to eat dog food, but this wasn’t the end since Corbin took offense to clips of last week’s encounter being aired and then went after a Roman Reigns’ fan in the crowd until Reigns came out and humored him.
Reigns agreed to a rematch with King Corbin and added the stipulation of a steel cage and later in the show it was made official for Super ShowDown.
