WWE SmackDown: Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods Return, Becomes New SmackDown Tag Team Champions

This week on SmackDown, Big E went to war with Sheamus in a Falls Count Anywhere match. After delivering a Big Ending off a car and through a table, Big E came out on top but the match definitely took its toll on his body.

Following his victory, Big E was interviewed backstage by Kayla Braxton where he was joined by the returning Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Kingston has been missing from WWE TV for around eight weeks as the former WWE Champion took some time away with his family, while Woods has been sidelined with an Achilles injury since 2019.

Kingston and Woods made it clear that they were back and they were coming for the WWE Tag Team Champions whether they remained on SmackDown or made the move over to Monday Night Raw.

Big E was unable to join in on the celebrations given the injuries he sustained but he seemed relieved that The New Day had finally returned.

Later in the night, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods teamed up to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

On their return to WWE, the duo was able to pick up the Tag Team Championships following Trouble In Paradise from Kingston and a splash from Woods. The New Day are now seven-time Tag Team Champions.
