WWE SmackDown: Kofi Kingston “Out For Six Weeks” Following Table Bump

This weeks episode of SmackDown featured a backstage segment between Big E and Kofi Kingston where the two men had a heart to heart regarding their future plans.

Kingston revealed that the doctors had informed him that he would be out for six weeks after being put through two tables at Extreme Rules.

Kingston’s table bump was the reason that The New Day lost the Championships to Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura and while the former WWE Champion remained optimistic about regaining the Championships when he can return to the ring, he made it clear that it was Big E’s time.

Xavier Woods is still on the sidelines nursing a torn ACL and with Kingston now out of action, it means that Big E is safe to go after a solo Championship.

Kofi noted that Big E had been selfless for the past six years and helped Kingston to push for the WWE Championship last year.

Big E was rumored to be a superstar who was being given a push in WWE a few years ago, but much like Kingston he has been overlooked for the best part of his career, so it will be interesting to see if he’s able to make an impact without his New Day cohorts.
