WWE SmackDown: Lacey Evans’ Daughter Makes Cameo Appearance, Braun Strowman Returns

It’s been a tense few weeks between Lacey Evans, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, and Sasha Banks after The Boss brought the fact that Evans was a mother into their storyline last week and Evans decided to bring her daughter to the show ahead of the holidays.

Her six-year-old daughter Summer was seen in a backstage segment with the likes of Dana Brooke, Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Cross. While it’s well known that Lacey Evans has a daughter, this is the first time WWE has allowed her to be part of the show and it could do wonders for putting Lacey Evans over as a face.

Brooke will take on Bayley later tonight, so it will be interesting to see if Lacey Evans and her daughter play any part in the match or if Summer has only been brought in for a small part in the show this week to help the WWE Universe to see that Evans is both an ex-marine and a loving mother.

Summer wasn’t the only shock addition to tonight’s episode of SmackDown since Braun Strowman made his first appearance in over a month when he was seen backstage with Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro. The Monster Among Men was reportedly struggling with a back injury but given the fact that he would have just opened a feud with Zayn, he could be set to be cleared early in the new year.

Strowman’s last big feud was against Tyson Fury, so he needs to find his feet on SmackDown when he’s ready to make his return.

The New Day took on Cesaro and Nakamura in a non-title match on SmackDown and after The Tag Team Champions picked up the win, Zayn attacked, so Braun Strowman came out and made the save, which all but confirms that he is now stepping into the IC Championship picture.

Strowman should be part of the Intercontinental Championship picture heading into 2020 and now that he’s expected to be cleared in time for the show, he could be a legitimate possibility for his first Royal Rumble win next year as well.
