WWE SmackDown: Matt Riddle Makes His SmackDown Debut, Pins AJ Styles

Matt Riddle made his debut on the main roster as part of SmackDown tonight when he interrupted AJ Styles’ Championship presentation. Riddle’s name has been trending throughout the day ahead of his debut since he was one of the star recently called out in the Social Media #SpeakingOut trend.

Riddle’s attorney already released a statement via Social Media regarding the historic claims and it appears that despite reports suggesting that Riddle’s debut was edited out of tonight’s episode of the show, The King of the Bros was still a big part of the show.

WWE released Jack Gallagher earlier in the night after he was one of the stars named in the social media trend, but it appears that Riddle’s story could be a little less straight forward.

Riddle made his debut by telling Styles that he is the “bro that runs the show” before stepping into the ring with “The face that runs the place.” It was an interesting match between two of SmackDown’s newest stars, which came to an end when Riddle was able to hit the BoDerek.

Superstars including Heavy Machinery, Big E, Shorty G and Gran Metalik remained on the outside of the ring following the Championship presentation and went on to play a big part in the match between the two men.

The Championship challengers played their part in helping Riddle to what could be a huge victory and turning point in his career.

Riddle was able to pin the Intercontinental Champion on his debut and the SmackDown roster who were all still at ringside then invaded the ring to congratulate him on his victory.

It was a distraction from Daniel Bryan that helped Riddle to pick up the win, which proves that the issues between the two men are far from over. This also means that Riddle has already earned himself an Intercontinental Championship match in his very first match on WWE’s main roster.
