WWE SmackDown: Otis Qualifies For Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Women’s Championship Match Confirmed

The men and Women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches have now been confirmed with Otis and Carmella joining the field this week on SmackDown. It was an emotional night for the Heavy Machinery star who was forced to watch his partner Mandy Rose lose her chance to compete for the contract at the hands of Carmella.

Rose then suffered some cuts and grazes when she was assaulted by her former friend Sonya Deville following the match and Otis then found Rose in the trainers’ room.

The former NXT star didn’t allow any of this to affect his performance against Dolph Ziggler in this week’s main event though since he was able to weather the storm and pick up a huge victory that could now lead him to his first WWE Championship. The issues between Ziggler and Otis still seem to be at the forefront of both men’s minds despite the fact that this is the second time that Otis has beaten Ziggler now and already proved his worth.

While the Money in the Bank contract winner could decide to cash in on the night, one Champion that will be in action is Bayley as she will now be defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Tamina. The women have had their own problems in recent weeks, but the match was confirmed tonight on SmackDown before Sasha Banks and Bayley brawled backstage with Lacey Evans and Snuka.

It was at last year’s Money in the Bank that Bayley cashed in her contract to dethrone Charlotte Flair just moments after she had been able to overcome the threat of The Man. Could history repeat itself next Sunday night? Bayley will have to overcome the threat of Tamina before then being forced to look over her shoulder if Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, or Carmella are the ones who climb the ladder and claim the contract.
