WWE SmackDown Preview, August 21: AJ Styles Defends Against Jeff Hardy, ThunderDome Debut

WWE Intercontinental Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Jeff Hardy

Tonight on SmackDown’s WWE ThunderDome debut, AJ Styles will put his Intercontinental Title on the line against Jeff Hardy in what promises to be an exciting high-flying contest between the two decorated veterans.

Can The Charismatic Enigma win his fifth Intercontinental Championship tonight? Or will The Face that Runs the Place humble Hardy to make the ‘dome his home?

Braun Strowman’s final message before SummerSlam

At SummerSlam, Braun Strowman will defend the Universal Championship against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in what is essentially a Money In The Bank and Extreme Rules rematch.

Strowman walked into the Wyatt Swamp Fight hoping to bury his past, but little did he know that The Fiend would unearth The Monster within him. Over the last couple of weeks, it’s been made pretty clear that Braun’s encounters with The Fiend have brought out a completely different side of him.

After last week’s physical altercation with Alexa Bliss, what final message will The Monster have for The Fiend ahead of The Biggest Party Of Summer?

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro (c) vs. Lucha House Party

Tonight on the SummerSlam go-home edition of SmackDown, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik of Lucha House Party will challenge Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

In recent weeks, the four Superstars have gone back and forth in singles action but it wasn’t until last Friday that Kalisto’s return restored the rhythm that Metalik and Dorado were lacking for so long. The Luchadors haven’t had a title shot in a long while and it’s about time the trio gets their hands on some gold.

Can Lucha House Party dethrone Nakamura and Cesaro to score their biggest title victory to date? Or will the Champion’s Lounge reign supreme?

Big E battles Sheamus

Big E will continue his quest for singles glory as he prepares to collide with Sheamus on SmackDown.

Last week, Sheamus delivered a devastating brogue kick to Big E following the latter’s victory over John Morrison, and tonight The New Day member will seek retribution against The Fella in 1-on-1 action.
