Royal Rumble is just over two weeks away which means that the matches are now coming in thick and fast. This past week on RAW, Brock Lesnar announced his place in the Royal Rumble match, while Becky Lynch vs Asuka and The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan have already been made official for the show.
This week on SmackDown, the animosity between Roman Reigns and King Corbin continued with Reigns accepting Corbin’s challenge for a match at the Royal Rumble event, but it was also revealed that both men will then enter the Royal Rumble match as well. This means that Corbin and Reigns are the first men to be announced to be pulling double duty on January 26th.
This week’s main event saw Roman Reigns look to help The Usos in their match with Corbin and Ziggler but this backfired when the numbers game took over and Robert Roode returned. Reigns caused the disqualification before the beatdown began and Roode made his return following his 30-day suspension last month.
The Revival interfered in the match much earlier which led to Reigns appearing and attempting to help the two men who returned to save him last week, but it now appears that the feud moving forward could see Ziggler, Roode, and Corbin take on The Usos and Roman Reigns.
While Corbin and Reigns are looking ahead to the Rumble, WWE announced on SmackDown that John Morrison will be making his return to the ring next week after the events that transpired this week. Morrison attacked Big E at ringside to help The Miz pick up the victory over Kofi Kingston and now Big E will be able to exact some revenge when he takes on Morrison in his first match since his official WWE return last week.
