Kevin Owens put a target on Roman Reigns’ back last week and made it clear that he would be the man to take away his Universal Championship.
The former Champion continued his push towards a title shot this week on SmackDown when he interrupted Reigns at the top of the show and pitched a Championship match between the two men.
Owens wanted Reigns’ attention and he got it when he teased that the two men should not only face off at TLC but they should face off in a headline Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.
Interestingly, with just two weeks to go until the final pay-per-view of the year, the match was then made official ahead of this week’s main event.
Reigns used the main event tag team match which also included Jey Uso and Otis, to send a message to his latest challenger when he attacked him with several chair shots. Reigns also went on to attack his own cousin, which was seemingly to keep him in line.
It appears that Reigns didn’t care that he had lost the match via disqualification since his mission was to send a message to Owens using a weapon that will be legal in just over three weeks’ time.
