WWE SmackDown: Six More Superstars Added to the Royal Rumble Match

Sami Zayn hasn’t had the best of runs in WWE since making his return to the company last year but seems to be pushing forward with his current storyline.

Zayn feels that he is being punished by the powers behind WWE and this week on SmackDown he made his way to the ring and handcuffed himself to the barricade.

It was while handcuffed that Zayn announced that he would be part of the Royal Rumble match next weekend.

Sami Zayn’s current storyline makes it appear as though he will be a superstar who is eliminated quickly from the match and this will then become another example of the company working against him.

At present, there are ten men announced for the upcoming Royal Rumble match, which means that there are still 20 places left to be taken in the next week.

The likes of Daniel Bryan, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Otis, The Miz Jey Uso, Cesaro, and Jeff Hardy have all already announced their place.

Bryan was the first man to announce his place in the Rumble back in December and is currently the odds on favorite to win the match and go on to main event WrestleMania.

Later in the night, Billie Kay revealed in a backstage segment that she had been able to speak to Sonya Deville and get Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott places in the Royal Rumble match.

Dolph Ziggler is currently joint second for the most consecutive appearances in a Royal Rumble match, The Showoff went one step closer to Kane’s record when he announced his Rumble entry when he answered Cesaro’s Rumble challenge.

WWE showed a Royal Rumble graphic later in the night which showed that Shinsuke Nakamura and Big E had also been added to the Rumble match.
