WWE SmackDown: Three Huge Matches Added To Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns Chooses Stipulation For Rumble Match Against King Corbin

The penultimate episode of SmackDown ahead of the 2020 Royal Rumble definitely didn’t disappoint as the action came in thick and fast and continued to set up some interesting matches for next weekend’s pay-per-view.

Lacey Evans attacked Sasha Banks backstage which led to The Boss not being medically cleared to compete, so Bayley stepped in her place and was pinned by The Sassy Southern Belle after a Women’s Right. Evans will now challenge The SmackDown Women’s Champion at the Royal Rumble in just nine days’ time.

Shorty G was backstage and he questioned why Sheamus targetted him upon his return to the company a few weeks ago, which lead to Sheamus interrupting the King of the Ring finalist before setting up a match between the two stars for the Rumble as well.

After the events that kicked off the show when Daniel Bryan finally took The Fiend by surprise before challenging him to a Strap Match next weekend, it appears that the masked star accepted the challenge since it’s also been made official that their Universal Championship match will now be contested under the strap match stipulation.

The odds looked to be stacked against Roman Reigns as he took on Robert Roode in a tables match to choose the stipulation of his match against King Corbin next weekend. Dolph Ziggler and Corbin looked to get involved and help Roode come out on top, but The Usos even the odds and in the end, it was Roman who speared Roode through a table.

Reigns then went on to state that he had chosen the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation for their upcoming match at The Rumble. Reigns and Corbin will also be participants in the Royal Rumble match, a match that Braun Strowman also declared himself for earlier in the night.
